BERRIEN COUNTY GOES SMOKE FREE!

On March 1, 2007 the Berrien County Board of Commissioners passed the Berrien County Clean Indoor Air regulation which requires that all public and private worksites in Berrien County must create and implement a smoke-free policy prohibiting smoking in all enclosed areas, except for bars and restaurants, tobacco specialty stores and property and facilities held in trust by the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Indian Tribe. In addition, private residences do not need to be smoke free except when used as a child care, health care facility or adult day care facility, or as a business open to the public.
